Refrigerator repair cost comes down to two numbers: the $95 diagnostic and the repair price the technician gives you after testing the unit.
The $95 diagnostic
The diagnostic on a refrigerator is $95, and it comes off the repair: agree to the job and the $95 is deducted from the price for parts and labor. You pay it separately only if you hear the price and decide not to repair — and if you change your mind later and call back, it still comes off the repair.
The repair price
The repair price itself depends on what is actually broken, and that is known after the diagnostic: one symptom can have several different causes, each with its own part and its own price. A fridge that stopped cooling can need a fan, a relay or a compressor — three very different repairs. The technician tests the unit first, then gives you one price for the whole job, parts and labor, and you decide with that number in front of you.

Refrigerator problems we repair
If your fridge is doing one of these, it's a routine visit: the technician tests the unit, names the cause and gives you one price for parts and labor — and most parts are already in the van.
Refrigerator not cooling
If the fridge side is warm while the freezer still freezes, the usual causes are a failed evaporator fan, an iced-up evaporator or a stuck air damper. If both compartments are warm, the technician starts at the compressor and its start relay. Either way the diagnostic names the cause before you hear the price.
Refrigerator leaking water
Water inside the fridge or under it usually means a clogged defrost drain, a cracked drain pan or a leaking water line to the ice maker. The technician finds where the water starts, clears or replaces that part and checks the line before leaving.
Refrigerator not making ice
When the ice maker quits, it's the ice maker unit itself, the water inlet valve or the fill line. The technician tests which one stopped the cycle and replaces the one that failed.
Refrigerator making loud noise
A fridge that clicks every few minutes usually has a failing start relay; buzzing or rattling points to a condenser fan; a loud hum from inside the freezer is often an evaporator fan hitting ice. Each of those is testable on the spot.
Freezer section not freezing
A refrigerator's freezer section that stopped freezing — or the opposite, one that buries itself in frost — is usually the defrost system: heater, thermostat or a worn door gasket letting humid air in. The technician checks the gasket and the defrost circuit and replaces the failed part.
Refrigerator freezing food
When lettuce freezes on the top shelf, the air damper is stuck open or the thermostat is misreading. Both are routine replacements — and cheaper than throwing out groceries every week.
Refrigerator stopped working
A completely dead fridge is usually the start relay, the control board or simply the outlet. The technician checks power first, then the relay and the board, and tells you which one it is before naming the price.
Error code on the display
The code points at a sensor or module, but the same code can have more than one cause. The technician reads the code, tests the part it points to and confirms the actual fault before naming the price.
