This is the third time I have used Starchenko Appliance and Repair, and, again, I was NOT disappointed! I also had the same technician, Rostyslav, who performed the repairs meticulously. He was able to repair my GE Dishwasher; so I now able to use it! As before, he was extremely thorough. Too bad I did not know of Starchenko prior to the purchase of the machine. AMAZING service from Stan! My dishwasher and fridge were not working and typically when you have to call someone in to help you with a broken appliance you feel timid that the technician will take advantage due to the clients lack of knowledge. The $95 diagnostic
The diagnostic on a dishwasher is $95, and it comes off the repair: agree to the job and the $95 is deducted from the price for parts and labor. You pay it separately only if you hear the price and decide not to repair — and if you change your mind later and call back, it still comes off the repair.
The repair price
The repair price itself depends on what is actually broken, and that is known after the diagnostic: one symptom can have several different causes, each with its own part and its own price. A dishwasher that won't drain can need a pump, a check valve or just a cleared drain path — three different repairs. The technician tests the machine first, then gives you one price for the whole job, parts and labor, and you decide with that number in front of you.

Dishwasher not draining
Standing water at the bottom of the tub means the drain path is blocked or the drain pump has failed — a clogged filter and food trap, a kinked or blocked drain hose, a stuck check valve or the pump itself. The technician finds where the water stops, clears or replaces that part and runs a cycle to confirm the tub empties.
Dishwasher not cleaning dishes
Dishes coming out dirty usually mean weak water circulation: a worn circulation pump, clogged spray arms or low water fill from a failing inlet valve. The technician checks the spray pressure and replaces the part that lost it.
Dishwasher leaking from the bottom
Water on the kitchen floor comes from a worn door gasket, a cracked pump seal, a loose hose or an overfilling tub. Mention when the water appears — during filling, washing or draining — when you book: it narrows the search.
Dishwasher won't turn on
A dead dishwasher is usually the door latch — the machine refuses to run until it believes the door is locked — the control panel or the thermal fuse. Sometimes it's just the outlet or a tripped breaker. The technician checks power first, then the latch and the board.
Dishwasher not filling with water
If the machine hums but stays dry, the water inlet valve has failed, the float switch is stuck or the supply line behind the machine is closed. The technician checks the supply first, then tests the valve and the float and replaces the one that failed.
Dishwasher not drying dishes
Wet dishes at the end of the cycle usually mean a failed heating element or a stuck vent. Both are testable on the spot, and the parts are standard stock.
Detergent dispenser not opening
If the soap door never pops, the dispenser latch or its wax motor has worn out — or the door is blocked by a tall pan. The technician tests the dispenser through a cycle and replaces it if it failed.
Dishwasher stops mid-cycle or shows an error
A cycle that dies partway through points to the door latch losing contact, a heating fault or a control board error. The code on the display narrows it down, but the same code can have more than one cause — the technician tests the part it points to and confirms the actual fault before naming the price.
