Cooktop needed repairs and called Starchenko and they sent out a technician the same day. Stan showed up on time and went to work on the issue. He was very professional, and careful with the removal of the cooktop making sure not to damage the surrounding countertop. He identified the issue, fixed it, and had the unit working by dinner time! They were reasonably priced and will definitely use them again when I have appliance issues and don’t feel like shelling out hundreds if not thousands of dollars to replace!

The $95 diagnostic
The diagnostic is $95, and it comes off the repair: agree to the job and the $95 is deducted from the price for parts and labor. You pay it separately only if you hear the price and decide not to repair — and if you change your mind later and call back, it still comes off the repair.
The repair price
The repair price itself depends on what is actually broken, and that is known after the diagnostic: one symptom can have several different causes, each with its own part and its own price. The technician tests the appliance first, then gives you one price for the whole job, parts and labor, and you decide with that number in front of you.
