I have two dogs (one is a puppy) so I use my washer and dryer just about every day. When my dryer stopped working on a Sunday night I was so upset! By the time I looked on Yelp it was extremely late. I was praying someone would be able to come out quickly. Mr. Starchenko messaged me back within 5 minutes (despite it being so late) and said he would come by the next day. When I described what happened he told me he thought it was the belt. He brought several with him when he came. He was on time (even early) and was extremely professional. My experience with Starchenko Appl has been one of full commitment to resolving my kid's dryer issues. I reached out to them during my attempt to find a repairman that won't reject our project. A stackable dryer & washer with a faulty dryer in a tight fit closet, was turned down by several companies. Well Pavel the technician came out not once but several times, since they guarantee their service and tackled different aspects of the dryer that kept at it until he got to the core problem. So grateful to Pavel for getting the job done with the best disposition. Even though we had someone clean the vent prior to calling Starchenko, a big piece of lint was left stuck in the pipe. Dryer repair cost comes down to two numbers: the $95 diagnostic and the repair price the technician gives you after testing the machine.
The $95 diagnostic
The diagnostic on a dryer is $95, and it comes off the repair: agree to the job and the $95 is deducted from the price for parts and labor. You pay it separately only if you hear the price and decide not to repair — and if you change your mind later and call back, it still comes off the repair.
The repair price
The repair price itself depends on what is actually broken, and that is known after the diagnostic: one symptom can have several different causes, each with its own part and its own price. A dryer that stopped heating can need an element, a fuse or a gas igniter — three different repairs. The technician tests the machine first, then gives you one price for the whole job, parts and labor, and you decide with that number in front of you.

Dryer problems we repair
If your dryer is doing one of these, it's a routine visit: the technician tests the machine, names the cause and gives you one price for parts and labor — and most parts are already in the van.
Dryer not heating
A dryer that spins but stays cold usually has a burned-out heating element, a blown thermal fuse or — on gas models — a failed igniter or gas valve coils. All of these are testable in minutes, and the parts are standard stock in the van.
Dryer not drying clothes
If the dryer runs hot but clothes come out damp, the airflow is blocked — a packed lint duct inside the machine, a jammed blower wheel or a worn moisture sensor ending the cycle early. The technician finds where the air stops and fixes that part.
Dryer won't start
A dead dryer is usually the door switch, the thermal fuse or the start switch — sometimes just the outlet or a tripped breaker. The technician checks power first, then tests the switches and replaces the one that failed.
Dryer not spinning
If the motor hums but the drum stands still, the drive belt has snapped or the idler pulley has seized. Both are stock parts and a same-visit repair on most models.
Dryer squeaking or making loud noise
Squealing usually means a worn idler pulley or drum rollers; a sharp grinding points to a drum glide or a failing motor bearing. Caught early it's a cheap repair — run long enough, a worn roller can scar the drum.
Dryer shuts off mid-cycle
A dryer that quits partway through is protecting itself from heat: a high-limit thermostat, a cycling thermostat or restricted airflow inside the cabinet. The technician tests the thermostats and clears the airflow path through the machine.
Error code on the display
The code points at a sensor or module, but the same code can have more than one cause. The technician reads the code, tests the part it points to and confirms the actual fault before naming the price.
