The $95 diagnostic
The diagnostic on an ice maker is $95, and it comes off the repair: agree to the job and the $95 is deducted from the price for parts and labor. You pay it separately only if you hear the price and decide not to repair — and if you change your mind later and call back, it still comes off the repair.
The repair price
The repair price itself depends on what is actually broken, and that is known after the diagnostic: one symptom can have several different causes, each with its own part and its own price.
