Terms of Service
These terms apply to this website and to appliance repair work arranged through it or through the phone number published on it. Please read them before you book.
Who we are
This website is operated by Starchenko Corp, a Florida corporation doing business as Starchenko Appliance Repair (“Starchenko”, “we”, “us”, “our”). You can reach us at 786-643-8833 or info@starchenko-ar.com.
What we do, and who performs the work
We take repair requests, schedule visits and arrange the repair of home and commercial appliances across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Services may be performed by Starchenko Corp or by independent contractors selected at our discretion. The company that performs your repair is identified on the invoice you receive. Independent contractors are not employees or agents of Starchenko Corp: they run their own businesses and are responsible for their own licensing, insurance and tools.
Booking, scheduling and access
Calls are answered 24 hours a day. Repair visits are scheduled Monday to Friday, 9 am to 7 pm, and we confirm your time window before the visit. A window is our best estimate, not a guarantee — traffic, parts and the job before yours can move it, and we will tell you if that happens.
You give us safe access to the appliance and to the space around it, and tell us anything about the property that affects the work: pets, alarms, gates, building rules, or something about the appliance you already know. If nobody aged 18 or over is at the address at the agreed time, or the appliance cannot be reached, the visit is rescheduled. We do not charge anything for a visit that was cancelled or could not happen — just tell us as early as you can, so the technician can take another job instead.
When we stop work
A technician can stop and reschedule, or decline the job, when going on would be unsafe or would take the work outside appliance repair. That includes a gas smell or a suspected gas leak, wiring or a socket that is not to code, standing water, mould, pests or waste around the appliance, an appliance that was not installed to the maker's instructions, and anything that threatens the technician's safety. In those cases we tell you what we found and what needs to happen first; the diagnostic fee for the visit still applies.
The problem in the wall, the pipe or the panel is not an appliance repair. We say so plainly rather than work around it.
The plumbing and the electrics an appliance is connected to belong to the property, not to the appliance: shut-off valves, supply lines, drain lines, sockets and wiring. Putting any of that right is not part of an appliance repair. A technician who finds it old, corroded or already leaking will tell you rather than work around it — replacing it is a job for a plumber or an electrician.
The diagnostic, estimates and prices
The diagnostic fee is $95 for home appliances and $115 for commercial equipment. It is credited toward the repair: you pay it separately only if you decide not to go ahead.
The price of the repair is known after the diagnostic, not before the visit. One symptom can have several different causes, each with its own part and its own price. Nothing beyond the diagnostic is done until you approve the price. Some parts have to be ordered; if a part cannot be had, or the repair is not worth doing, we will say so.
Parts
Most common parts are already in the van. Some have to be ordered, and you hear how long the wait is before you agree to anything. If a part is discontinued or cannot be had at a sensible price, we say so and the repair stops there.
If you supply the part yourself, we will fit it where it is safe to do so, but the part itself carries no warranty from us and the risk of it being wrong or faulty stays with you. The 90-day warranty below covers parts we supplied.
The technician takes the replaced part away. Small parts can go in your own bin instead if that suits you better, and if you want to keep a part, say so before the work starts. Taking away or disposing of a whole old appliance is not part of a repair.
Payment
You pay the company that performs the repair, on the invoice that company gives you. Cards, Zelle, cash and checks are accepted. All prices on this site are in US dollars.
Warranty
Repairs carry a 90-day warranty on the part and on the labor. The term is written on the invoice you receive, and the warranty is honored by the company named on that invoice. If a repair fails inside that period, call 786-643-8833 and we arrange the return visit with that company. Coming back inside the warranty period costs you nothing — that is the condition on which we hand work to a technician in the first place.
The warranty covers the part that was replaced and the work that was done. It does not cover a different fault that shows up later, damage from misuse, power surges, water or pests, work done by someone else after our visit, or an appliance we advised was not worth repairing.
Claims and property damage
If you believe the work was not done correctly, call us first — 786-643-8833. We will put you in touch with the company that performed the repair so that it can be put right.
Claims about the repair itself, and any claim for damage to property arising out of the work, are directed to the company that performed that work and are that company's responsibility. Starchenko Corp is not responsible for the acts or omissions of an independent contractor.
That covers damage to the appliance, to your home and to anyone else's property — a neighbouring unit or the building itself. Call 786-643-8833 and we will give you the name and contact details of the company that carried out the work and pass your claim on to it, so that it is taken up with the company that did the job.
If you disagree with an invoice
The invoice comes from the company that performed the repair, and questions about what was charged are settled with that company. Call 786-643-8833 and we will put you in touch with it and follow the matter until it is resolved. If the disagreement is with Starchenko Corp itself — about what we told you, arranged or promised — the section on disputes below applies.
Calls, texts and recording
By giving us your phone number you agree that we may call or text you about your repair request and the work that follows from it. Those are service messages about your job, not marketing; we do not run text-message campaigns. Message frequency may vary, msg & data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Calls may be recorded, and a recorded announcement at the start of the call tells you so. What happens to recordings is described in our Privacy Policy.
This website
The text, the photographs of our work and the layout of this site belong to Starchenko Corp. Appliance brand names and logos are the property of their owners and are used only to identify the appliances we repair; we are an independent repair company and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any manufacturer.
The photographs on this site are of real jobs. What the site says about prices, timing and coverage describes how we normally work — it is not a promise about a particular job before anyone has looked at it. We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be free of errors or never go down.
Things outside anyone's control
Hurricanes, floods, power cuts, road closures, strikes and shortages at the parts suppliers can delay a visit or a part. When that happens we tell you as soon as we know and rebook at the first opportunity. Nothing in these terms makes anyone liable for a delay caused by something they could not control.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Starchenko Corp is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages — including lost income, spoiled food, or the cost of making other arrangements — arising out of a repair or out of your use of this website. Where Starchenko Corp is nevertheless found liable, its total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to Starchenko Corp in connection with the job in question or one hundred dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Disputes, arbitration and class action waiver
Please read this section carefully. It changes how a dispute with us is resolved.
We would rather sort a problem out on the phone. Call 786-643-8833 or write to info@starchenko-ar.com first, and give us 30 days to put it right.
If that does not settle it, you and Starchenko Corp agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms, this website, or a repair arranged through us will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration takes place in Miami-Dade County, Florida, or by remote hearing.
Class action waiver. You and Starchenko Corp agree that claims will be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. An arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims.
Small claims. Either of us may still bring an individual claim in small claims court where the claim qualifies.
If the class action waiver is found unenforceable, this whole arbitration section does not apply and the dispute goes to court. If any other part of this section is unenforceable, the rest of it stands.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Where a dispute is not subject to arbitration, it will be brought in the state or federal courts in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and both sides agree to that venue.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version published here when you book is the version that applies to that job.
The rest
These terms, together with the invoice for your job, are the whole agreement between you and Starchenko Corp about that job, and they replace anything said earlier about it. If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not insist on something once, that does not mean we give up the right to insist on it later.
